Personal Project

The Idea.

To me, maps aren’t just decorative—they’re an essential part of a resort’s identity. They shape how guests first interact with the mountain. A well-designed map does more than direct people from point A to B—it guides, inspires, and creates an experience before the first chairlift ride even begins.

When I create a map, I think about questions like:

• How does a guest naturally interact with this space?

• What’s the visual hierarchy that leads their eye through the terrain?

• How can clarity and artistry work together to enhance the overall feel of the resort?

Why I Made It?

This piece was created as a portfolio example—a way to demonstrate my ability to design ski resort maps that are both detailed and functional, while staying true to my illustration style.

I wanted to show potential clients—whether resorts, trail systems, golf courses, or tourism destinations—what I can bring to the table. By building it from scratch, I was able to sharpen my process for visualizing elevation, mapping ski runs, and integrating natural features in a way that feels cohesive and inspiring.

At the core of it, I believe a great map should do more than help you find your way. It should pull you into the experience and leave you excited to explore.

Maybe You?
