Tabernash is a small town of just a couple hundred people, located just outside Winter Park, Colorado, where I lived and worked as a ski and snowboard instructor. Winters could be staggeringly cold, often reaching 40 below, but this cabin was always warm and toasty inside. There’s nothing quite like the coziness of a cabin with a fireplace, providing a perfect retreat from the harsh winter outside.

  • I always starts with pencil and paper, as the feel you get can’t be replicated digitally. Once I find a composition that I like, I move this sketch into Illustrator or Photoshop. This is where the piece slowly comes to life through a series of brush strokes, gradually bringing in light, shadows, and texture. I like my work to feel as traditional as possible to give it that painted, dreamy feel.
