If you have trouble pronouncing this, it’s normal. They say you’re only truly Dutch if you can say it properly: “skhey-vuh-ning-uh n.” So, what is this place? It’s a small surf town in the south of the Netherlands on the North Sea, where the water is just above freezing in the winter, and we carry our boards on our bikes to the beach! This piece is inspired by a surf spot called the Kwartel. A beautiful ride through the forest and dunes leads you to this special spot where fun barrels await a few times a year.
Size: A6 (105 x 148.5 mm4.1 x 5.8 inches)
Includes 1 Envelope per card

I always starts with pencil and paper, as the feel you get can’t be replicated digitally. Once I find a composition that I like, I move this sketch into Illustrator or Photoshop. This is where the piece slowly comes to life through a series of brush strokes, gradually bringing in light, shadows, and texture. I like my work to feel as traditional as possible to give it that painted, dreamy feel.
